Day 7 of 40 Days of Story: Can you see what you want?
You want something. You know you do.
Today’s story question is about your External Quest in this season. Can you name what you want and turn it into a concrete goal?
It must be so clear that if we saw you on the big screen chase it and achieve it, we’d know our hero had won.
So, the exercise is to name it and spend a few minutes visualizing it. Imagine it with all your senses. And do share.
I got the call recently that I am being promoted to Lead Coach. I was instantly excited and terrified at the same time. That is what prompted this need to take the next step to grow.
God Confidence
Goal: Take some time to identify insecurities and their sources. Surrender those things to God and ask Him to show me how He sees me. Ask Him to fill me with His confidence. I will begin this journey this week.
God dependence
Goal: Take some bold steps in regard to seeking God’s will about where we should live. May 30th is coming quickly. Set aside a week to pray and fast. Dig into prayer for answers, not depending on myself, but relying on God. This includes the journey of generosity that He is already taking me on.
These types of things are developed by Him in His timing. I am merely trying to get myself out of the way so I can see and realize His work in me. Hard to quantify into concrete goals.
I want to find a way to delve into the depths of meaningful and transparent conversation with others for the purpose of sharing hope, the kind of hope that says, “Hey I know life stinks sometimes, but even seemingly dead and dormant branches can sprout to life once again and produce astonishing new beauty. You too can finish your story well, or even be ‘re-storied,’ a branch of exquisite new blossoms this season, because God really does work all things together for good to those who love Him and are called according to His purpose. Sure, His thoughts are not our thoughts and His ways are not our ways, but He can be trusted to bring about our prosperous future, via life in the God-lane,” that is- inner prosperity. Sometimes it just takes pruning a few limbs, breaking up the fallow ground and raking in some organic fertilizer.
Goal: FInd a way, make a way and finally just go for it!
